Call for Posters & Lightning Talks | Coming Soon
We are now accepting poster proposals for the 19th annual Energy HPC & AI Conference at Rice University, by the Ken Kennedy Institute. The poster session is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, February 25th, 2026 in person at the BRC. ​​
​
Details:​ Poster submissions are open to students and postdocs from all universities. While relevance to industry is a consideration, it should be interpreted very broadly. Keep in mind that the energy industry, IT industry, academia, and national laboratories participate in this conference.

Lightning Talks: Students and Postdocs (non-industry) can also apply to present their poster as a lightning talk on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 in the main auditorium as part of the conference before the poster session starts. If interested in applying for this opportunity, please select "Poster Session + Lightning Talk" on the application and complete the additional information. Note that a letter of recommendation from an advisor/supervisor is required (details provided within EasyChair submission form).

Note 1: If you do not already have an EasyChair account you will be required to create one to access the submission page.

Note 2: The Ken Kennedy Institute does not offer printing services; printing is the responsibility of the presenter. ​Printed posters cannot be larger than 48” by 48” (this is an absolute requirement). Some PowerPoint poster templates can be found here.

Complimentary Registration: Upon abstract acceptance, the poster and lightning talk presenters will receive a complimentary registration code.
​
Travel & Accommodations Credit: ​Non-local student presenters selected for a lightning talk will receive a complimentary domestic flight (or up to $500 in flight reimbursement if traveling internationally), along with a two-night hotel stay near the conference venue in Houston, TX.
​
Acceptance & Awards: Accepted posters and those selected to present a lightning talk will be notified via email individually, but please reach out to the conference organizers at kenkennedy@rice.edu if you need advance notice to prepare for travel or visa requirements. ​
​
Additionally, this year the conference committee will award 1) the top poster and 2) the top lightning talk. All presenters will be under consideration for the award; prizes will be distributed at the conclusion of the conference.

​
This is a great opportunity to build your resume, show off your work, and network with our conference attendees from across the industry. Students and postdocs interested in presenting a Lightning Talk will benefit from the chance to showcase your work in the conference auditorium to all attendees before the poster session.​
